Empire Intellectual

 Not all the intellectuals in the empire
are empire intellectuals,
only those who are blind in one eye
(don’t see or understand empire)
fixed focus in the other
(believe they represent legitimate exceptionality)
have overworked mouths
(defending the ruling order)
a hole in their heads
(allowing the bats to get in)
a title of privilege
and an ancient attitude.
