Honorable Stupidity

A journalist was going to interview a powerful bad guy. An enemy! The media exploded in a carnival of contempt. ”Traitor!” ”Useful idiot!” Big-Bang Bad across the board.

It was sound and fury, signifying stupidity, rock-solid, steel-enforced, arrogant stupidity.

What monumental moron wouldn’t want to know their enemy? Any interview with a major ”monster” should be prime-time encouraged. The full force of the mighty empire media, however, was screaming, ”Don’t know your enemy!” Listening to him will corrode your sanity. (We’ll tell you all you need to know about him.)

Besides the intellectual rot this behaviour illustrates, imperial arrogance is also demonstrated. The citizens aren’t mature enough to be subjected to such propaganda. If they listen to the communist ”monster” they’ll tear up their Bible and run through the streets with a hammar in one hand and a corn-cutting tool in the other intent on destroying everything we hold dear.

Trust us! Trust the authorities and experts! We will tell you everything you need to know.

That is the strategic message of official and commercial communications. The citizens are not capable of understanding important information. Their childlike intellect cannot deal with the complexity of major events. The talking-heads and intelligentsia sing racist-grade arrogance in chorus; sneer with contempt, and dismiss the ignorati, the we-the-people.

The hysteria is justified. Listening to the other side, ”the enemy”, might reveal stuff the deplorables shouldn’t hear.

The Honorable Janet in the picture above, the USA Secretary of Finance (former board member of the Federal Reserve), speaks at a government hearing. Anyone listening who doesn’t know Janet’s status is in the wrong room. Why ”The Honorable” above her name? Should anyone void of honor command a high government position? She owns the highest titles and merits of the nation. A nation with an economy in shambles, and a population suffering under extreme inequality with all the misery and evil this entails; where a handful of billionaires accumulate ever more riches, while an ever larger portion of the great majority struggle to acquire the necessities of survival. The Janet presides over a national debt of unsustainable heights and growing. Two thirds of the world are preparing to ditch the dollar as an exchange currency. If the honorable Janet were in charge of a little trinket shop, she would have been fired long ago. Choosing an adequate titled in accordance with her performance would require a somewhat less prestigious term. As I am a gentleman, I offer no suggestions.

Janet represents a typical member of the bought and paid for, well-lobbied (legally bribed), administrative section of the government, staffed with “democratically” elected “honorables” from the 1% highest wealth bracket. Referring to a government staffed exclusively by the 1% wealthiest citizens as a democracy demands a special quality of stupidity. Could some honourable representative of the media please step forward and explain the superiority of this form of democracy to the masses struggling to understand the nature of honourable stupidity.
