Great Simplicity
The candle says not a word about the vulgarity of the circus in the distance,
not a murmur of the obesity of the extravagance,
the plastic promises or the neon smiles.
It gives its light in silence
aware that even the flames of decadence cast light.
It creates its art
trying to distract from its tear
running down into the shadows.
