A Tree on Trial in the Court of the City

The tree is on trial. It’s been accused of sticking up and defying the rule of obedient conformity. It’s placed itself in a high position even though only birds can live in it. Worst of all, it changes character and colors with every season. In the autumn it simply discards its leaves all over the well-arranged stones and asphalt.

The prosecutor demands the death penalty.
It’s rumored that the liberal judge will sentence the tree to death by chopping. He considers using a chainsaw vulgar.

“They call their justice the freedom to conform.”
