The Ministry of Love

Why is there no Ministry of Love?
Department of Love or Bureau of Love?
Office, Commission, Agency, Council, Advisory Board?
Love Committee?
Nothing!

Why is that?
There’s a Department for Homeland Security.
How secure can we be without love?
There’s a Department of the Treasury.
What do we treasure more than love?
There’s a Department of Justice.
Life is unjust without love.

What about …. What’s that you say? Oh, yes! Of course.
Sorry about my questions. How foolish of me.
Love can’t be governed.
And if it could, we wouldn’t want it in the hands of the government.

Why is there no Ministry of Love?
Because love rules.
