Anti-Christ Pictures of Jesus – part 1 of 3

JesusEnebyKyrka_4907
No one knows what Jesus looked like. The Bible makes no mention of his appearance. 100s of 1000s (millions?) of pictures and sculptures depict him.

Today, tomorrow and the day after that I’ll present 3 renditions of Jesus. Here’s the first.

Jesus as a king, floating rather than hanging on a cross. Slender, blond, jaw-bearded and dressed in what could be an Armani robe. Perhaps he is auditioning for the role of a superstar. His lack of expression is standard. We don’t want to see him suffering and he can’t be happy on the cross.

Although this seems to be as far from the actual Jesus as one can come, it is honest in one sense. All portrayals of Jesus are symbols, icons or, as this one clearly shows, idols.
The reverence some people attach to carvings or pictures of Jesus fall solidly under the heading Idol Worship.

Many of the depictions of Jesus, like this one, are anti-Christ.

(to be continued…)
