Stupidest Statement Nominations
I would like to submit my nomination for the stupidest statement of 2016.
On Nov. 9, in reference to Trump’s election victory, Paul Craig Roberts titled his blog with this, my nomination:
The Working Class Won The Election
I’m eager to hear any nomination that can exceed that one in stupidity. Should we envision working class people giddy with success over their billionaire buddy at the wheel of the ship of state? Can we expect their mirth to sour somewhat when Trump’s billionaire buddies (and himself) find themselves at the receiving end of tax cuts, paid for with cuts to social services? Oh, come on, do you really expect him to improve the condition of the working class at the expense of his own class? There comes a point when gullibility reaches criminal proportions.
A runner up to the working-class-victory headline could be the stupidity that followed it.
The US presidential election is historic, because the American people were able to defeat the oligarchs.
Have you seen a field of defeated oligarchs littering the ground with $100 notes oozing out of their pockets? Roberts means of course the Democrat election oligarchs, the oligarchs behind and around him are not subject to negative terms. And don’t hold your breath waiting for him to use the more accurate word Plutocrat.
In any case, those are my nominations. Do you have any?
