A Long Way From Home

We are a long way from home
and poorly equipped.
The way is long, crooked, difficult
and dangerous.
Were it not for our magic weapon
we wouldn’t have a chance.

with soil so deep and rich

with birds that can sing

of sweet and generous fruits.
