Snapshot of the Empire

“We’re not going to do it scientifically this time, we’re going to do it politically.”

Let me deal with the quote before revealing the source and context. Translated into common speech it reads:
“Not with truth, but money.” (science deals with truth, politics deals with money)

The quote exemplifies a psychopath, a worshipper of money. Not truth, money! Our psychopath is locked into making money and building influence. No other issues are of concern, not truth, people, nature or the environment. He’s a hard-working, dedicated, knowledgeable and talented player who doesn’t have time to think about anything other than accomplishing the tasks he’s committed to resolve.
That’s the way it works. Not truth, money! He will do what it takes to make money.

Unlike most of the other fixers, dealers and economic hitmen, he’s at the top of the heap, a commander in the war for riches. Commanders never come anywhere near their victims. They get the job done. Should anyone point out that the results of a profitable deal can cause sickness and death and do considerable damage to 100s of 1000s of people, our commander wouldn’t recognize the charges and claim that the figures are way out of proportion. A certain amount of collateral damage occurs despite efforts to reduce them as far as possible. He says collateral damage as though talking about toilet paper.

Contempt for truth and worship of money characterizes the entire ruling strata of the land. It wouldn’t surprise me if “Money, not truth” was etched into the back of the little flag they wear on their lapel. They are the winners in a money-oriented system. Should they question their privilege, their historical victory? Of course not.

Now let’s give the quote a face and put it in a context. Donald Rumsfeld used the quote as a battle cry in his charge to defeat the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) and get the artificial sweetener aspartame approved for food and drink products. It had been turned down twice before. There was good reasons to regard aspartame as dangerous. Rumsfeld used his position to appoint his man, Arthur Hayes, as commissioner of the FDA and it no longer mattered what the scientists at FDA wanted or said. Hayes approved sweet, and deadly, aspartame despite the warnings and recommendations of the FDA scientists.

Rumsfeld used the word scientific in the quote above because he knew all about Searle’s shoddy research and the dangers of aspartame. He was the fixer. He had to know. They had never tried science. Not with the first submission or the second one. They tired fake research. It didn’t work. Rumsfeld knew that aspartame didn’t stand a chance of ever reaching the public if real science decided. The people who would be affected and even die? He didn’t care. Collateral damage can’t be avoided in war and business. The details don’t interest him. Just as it doesn’t interest his homies. Money is what they are all about and that is what this is all about.

Contempt for truth and worship of money characterizes the entire ruling strata. Rumsfeld is merely one of the flock. Kissinger, Cheney, Snyder (Flint), all the presidents and all money’s horses and all money’s men. Or, as Kurt Vonnegut wrote in one of his last pieces before he died, ”They just don’t give a fuck.”

“Fear and obedience!” the Empire cries.
This is your destiny preach the fake wise
wearing prestige titles for disguise.
Too late to wake up, covered in flies,
there’ll be nobody left, to shout, “Surprise!”

So-called “democracy” in America is a ‘fascist farce;’ fasci symbols, hidden ‘in plain sight,’ are prominently bracketing ‘Old Betsy’ hung on the wall behind the front podium in Congress. Explain!
