Great Heads, Rotting Knowledge
Great heads float above the earth,
above the people.
They are filled with approved knowledge
which
—unlike the wild stuff—
rots.
And rotten knowledge
—unlike the natural stuff—
clogs the basis of thought,
the body of experience,
pains, joys and love
—real love—
the stuff that ties us together.
Knowledge without love
is no knowledge at all.
It is dry calm in a soul thirsty for action,
a slap on the desire of a caress,
clumsy blood stumbling along a curvy vein.
The words of the great heads
can taint our determination
to fill the earth with harmony
and the people with love
—real love—
the stuff that makes us whole.
