Gossip Warriors

They talk truths to liars,
little truths, big liars – weak truths, solid liars – lame truths, vicious liars
and gossip among themselves
about what the liars do, did, don’t do, didn’t do,
should and shouldn’t do, may or may not do
and who and how they do and don’t do it with and to.
They don’t talk to the people.
They don’t know what to say.
From their heights of fashionable wisdom
it doesn’t seem to pay.
When the people find a way
the gossipers will find new tunes to play
but no one will listen except to laugh
at the noise they bray.
