cultivating fear

harvesting obedience

conducting war with pictures, words,

licensed liars,

degreed ignoramuses,

titled psychopaths,

authoritative prostitutes,

smiling snakes

and

smileless minds armed with hate

decayed compassion.

The Market-state

diseased with greed

generous with promises

injects the suffering citizens

with fuzzy concepts

foggy ideas

and vaccinates them

with patriotic servility

paralyzing logical thinking

protecting them against truth

to ease the fathom pain of hopelessness.

The Market-state

sails full-speed on a sloping sea

toward the edge of extinction

a party rages in the captain’s cabin

where the bubbles are intoxicating

and the laughter hysterical.
