A Rusted Barbed-wire Cross

BarbedCross_0564

One died for our sins.
Millions die because of our sins.

The Last Warrior’s Tear

LastWarrior60042

He stands ready. He knows that he will defend the values with honor and fears not death.

He is not lonely, but he is alone.
Where are my comrades, those who should be standing alongside me?

A tear of doubt is about to drop.
He fears the echo of silence
when the tear explodes upon the earth.

“Death can’t be bribed.
That scares the corrupt to hell.”

Outcest, the Opposite of Incest

HappiNV

(This is the forth in a series on racism that appears on the 20th of every month.)

It’s well known that incest or near-related genes tend to produce weaknesses. It is seldom mentioned that the opposite, distance genes (outcest), tend to produce strength; physical, mental or both.

One need look no further than American sports that are heavily dominated by dark-skinned people with a dose of white genes in their DNA.

The next time you hear someone say, ”Keep our race/nation/group pure!”
You can ask, ”Why do you want to grow weak?”

It’s as though biology is saying, ”Mix it up, folks!”

“Lowly lead gives crystal its beauty.
Impurities of coal give steel its strength.
Simple salt gives life to the ocean.
I give you my imperfect thoughts on lowly words with simple love.
Grow strong and deep in a beautiful life!”

Cancer, Cure and Prevention

Frame2-20434

The biopsy report came back and Doctor Ann didn’t pull punches. ”You’ve got a 35% chance of getting through this. I’ll do everything I can to help.”
Doctor Ann kept her word. Two operations, lots of lymph glands in the first and a breast in the second, then heavy chemotherapy followed by aggressive radiation therapy. It worked. That was over 12 years ago and Li has been enjoying good health and grandchildren that she would otherwise never have seen.

Li was a picture of health before she got cancer. Her cancer was not the result of her life style. Fatalities due to breast cancer have been declining in the ”advanced” countries because of ever better treatment, not because of fewer occurrences. More and more women contract and die of breast cancer in the world.

There are many types of cancers. Some, like lung cancer, are obviously caused by life styles. Others are triggered by environmental factors. Some of these love healthy bodies and devour them quickly.

The best way to cure cancer is to prevent it from occurring. That’s a collective effort, not a personal one.

PS: Li was lucky in another respect. She was not living in the USA where, unlike most other countries, cancer is often a death doom to the victim’s economy.

Sorrow

Sorrow can be heavier than darkness and deeper than pain.
It can close all paths except the one that goes forward.

Beauty, Love & Health

DawnFrostTree4_4234

Beauty, love and health are not constants.

If you rip up a mountain forest and frack the hell out of the landscape, you rip up beauty and replace it with ugly.
If you start wars and spread conflict, you tear up love and replace it with hate.
If you contaminate the oceans, pollute the air and commercialize the nourishment out of food, you break down health and replace it with sickness.

Of course it’s not you who is diminishing beauty, love and health in the world. You’re just a victim. Not an innocent one, but at least you are discussing this with friends, relatives and other people in search of a way to reverse the trend, aren’t you?

“Beauty and love are eternal.
But there are places they don’t like to go.”

Specially Naive about Law

BerdNV

SV: How can anyone or any thing be too big to fail? That’s against the law of nature.
NV: We’re not talking about nature we’re talking about politics.
SV: So if you’re big enough or rich enough, you’re above the law. Is that what you are saying?
NV: No, but you are naive.
SV: How is that naive?
NV: Those who are too big to fail are not above the law, they are the law.

“There’s nothing special about you
until you discover what’s special about you
and use it in a special way.”

Pornographic Ice

Icicles6_4206

I read that pornography can be defined as events without context. The ”stories” that surround the xxx scenes are decorations. They can be compared to the attributes of TV-wrestlers. The wrestling contains no real fight and the sex scenes contain no real passion.

This definition of pornography can be applied to a wide range of published events, whether a magazine dealing with home furnishings or a news article. The report that take us into the home of X, for example, tell us nothing about X’s home life, but allow us to mentally masturbate on luxurious furnishings as though they were big-breasted porno stars in ultra high-heels.

There’s no danger of enjoying an occasional isolated or sensational event, but a steady diet of this junk can harden the arteries of thought.

Where is the ice on the picture above? Are they massive formations in a cave or tiny samples from the crevice of a rock? Are they the temporary formations from yesterday’s weather or relatively stable objects of an arctic climate?

Perhaps they symbolize formations in the mind. Lack of context in our encounter with the world can have a chilling effect on the intellect.

“Pornos is a sweaty cheese sandwich with a warm soda.
Eros is wild strawberries in cream
with a pinch of salt from a sun-warmed neck.”

A Light in the Night

LamppostSnow3_4213

The snow whips through the darkness,
whisking past the light.
The light stands firm,
witnessing the fury,
like the light within us
defying the darkness around us.
Fear not the fury of the cold.
It envies your warmth of life.
