The Herd and the Polboys
Try to vision a politician encouraging the people to refrain from drinking sodas and bottled water behind a commitment of high quality tap water for everyone.
Can’t do it, can you. Of course not. Coke is the real thing and nothing is ”realer” than air pollution, environmental fever and corporate profits. The bottled beverage industry is a major contributor of carbon to the atmosphere while weakening the economy of the people and deteriorating their health. It contributes nothing of benefit to anyone other than corporate commanders. Yet despite our heated prospects of extinction an unnamed taboo prevents the issue of bottled drinks from appearing on the public stage, a stage lit by the (corporate owned) mainstream media.
Nothing prevents the people themselves from abandoning the bottled beverage fix to drink inexpensive, healthy and sustainable water, but sacrificing ”the real thing” in the struggle for survival seems too much to ask. Whining progressives prefer to make noisy demands and sing the glory of fantasy battles. Insignificant projects of sound and fury are preferred to simple doable actions.
The day will come when the herd stampedes …
off the cliffs of existence.

Lately I read about plastic waste in the oceans. A report tells me that environmental scientists claim that by year 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the world’s oceans. Feature that if you please. . . .
Good column, Fantelius
Thanks Deke. Your wish is my command. A post about the junk in the oceans and elsewhere is forthcoming. Stay tuned.
On becoming informed of CC politics obtaining fresh water for their swill; I wouldn’t imbibe that bottled gut rot were it the last liquid on spaceship EARTH. CC is not the real thing; never was.
