Uncle (Tom) Khan of London
Mayor Khan of London may be short in stature, but he is a giant of hypocrisy.
In his short speech about the London Bridge attack he called the perpertrators ”sickening”, ”twisted”, ”barbaric”, ”evil”, ”unforgivable” and ”horrific” and referred to them three times as cowards. The attackers may qualify for all the adjectives applied by Uncle Khan, but cowards they are not. Cowards don’t rush into certain death by attacking people with knives in central London. A coward is someone who sits comfortably in luxurious surrounding while sending poor citizens to kill poor people in foreign countries. A coward talks indignantly about the death of a handful of citizen, while hiding 100s of 1000s of deaths in silence, and doesn’t dare mention the circumstances that drive young men to such desperation that they are willing to die and kill others to affect some retribution for the injustice, humiliations and bottomless losses they have suffered. A coward risks nothing, but talks bravely for the benefit of weapon dealers and conflict peddlers.
According to UN report 11 000 Afghani civilians were killed in 2015. Civilians! 30 a day for every day of the year. In Afghanistan. I don’t know the figures for Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen and Somalia but we can be rather certain that 100s of innocent people have been and are being killed daily, and that the British rulers (and subservient Mayors) are and have been directly or indirectly involved. For nearly two decades. Not to mention their juicy weapon sales to Saudi Arabia. And their support for apartheid Israel.
Of course, Uncle Khan is but one of the well-paid administrative clowns spouting demagogic rhetoric for the rulers. The admirable thing about him is his ability to speak at all with lips against his superiors’ assholes.
