Imaging Imagine

Beware of those wave a flag and drag a hook from their ass.

 John Lennon
born 1940
died at the age of 40
will be gone 40 years this year.
It’s enough to get biblical
but I won’t.

John encouraged us to imagine a world where
all the people lived in peace
sharing all the world.

Imagining such a world isn’t hard to do, sang John.
Sorry, John,
I’m afraid you overestimated the dreamers
and underestimated the schemers
who
instead of imagining living in peace as one
struggle to keep the world a tool
for 1% of the people
to grow in greed
spreading nightmares and illusions
that possessions offer protection
against species annihilation.

The people scream
instead of dream:
Me, me, me
and lose the image of a world
where
war doesn’t exist,
and everyone is secure in their needs,
where
confident people greet each day with motivation
to protect and improve the well-being of everyone,
where
the childish joy of life never fades.

Imagine!

“Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives I think we’re being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I’m liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That’s what’s insane about it.”

Thanks, Edit and Thomas Erikson. It’s a shame that John’s truth hasn’t sunk into the consciousness of more people. Dartwill Aquila has said, “Trust in authority can endanger your species.”
