Virus Chief & God of Greed

The virus chief with the god of greed

infected  people with a fearful seed

grew in backbones, caused courage to bleed

made them cry, whine and plead

swore they’d follow god’s lead

to find salvation in obedience 

as their only need.

The rulers in charge of devastating the lives and livelihoods of the millions—to save them—would now help them by passing out generous crumbs on the condition that the workers didn’t demand a minimum of bread.
