Legal Tyranny

Sculpture by Karin Sjöblom

Without freedom of expression, there can be no freedom at all.

UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights: “Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.” Note: “through any media”

People not allowed to express their opinions, ideas, criticisms and acclaims are the subjects of tyrants. Freedom of expression is the foundation of democracy. No freedom of expression, no democracy.

Except if one has a large company and is dedicated to protecting the statements and policies of people in positions of power. Corporate commanders may, under circumstances threatening official policies or vulgar profits, censor, kill or bury any expression by labeling the expression disinformation. No explanation, reason, debate, trial, or intelligence is necessary. The label of disinformation legalizes censorship the way lobbying legalizes bribery… in the land of the free billionaires and the home of their brave administrators… of thee I scream.

“There’s a great dangerous horse

with a viral mane, of course,”

explained my infallible boss.

“Step up for the spiked cross!

Leave your freedom in the moss!

Should you suffer a personal loss,

we’ll blame it on the mane’s gloss.”

“Once they begin to censor words, they don’t stop until only two words remain.

Yes, Master”
