The Democratic Dictator

He started by lying, then went into hiding

then he came out, and continued to shout

and made up a rule to steal truckers’ money

Yes, it’s hard to believe, no it ain’t funny.

Then he made himself dictator, white collar and tie.

So now it’s legal  to steal and to lie.

He was helped by “democracies”, quiet as mice.

It’s not that they’re generous, they wanted a slice.

The people now know without a gram of doubt

the right and the wrong of what the fight’s all about

and retreat with new knowledge to prepare the next bout.

They can’t be locked in when they’ve no other choice

than to find the way out.

Some boxes are made outta steel, glass and gold,

others of plastic and word-spinners mold

Some people are bought, others are sold

A few do what they want, most do what they’re told

I’ve learned what I’ve sought in people, young and old

learned to ask, never to scold,

learned you don’t need many as long as they’re bold.
