They called themselves the 7 Saints. We were proud to have them in our neighborhood. This celebrity gang was known throughout the Bronx even if a mere 7 members barely qualified as a gang. Unlike the other gangs they wore no identifying jackets. When not in their cellar clubroom or around their windowless van they’d blend into their surroundings despite the halo we younger wannabes saw glowing around them.
Although not particularly friendly, no one feared them. They were neither aggressive or provocative, but everyone knew not to threaten or attack them. Training daily in collective self-defense coupled to a steeled determination to eliminate any attack by any means available proved to be a formidable force. The two times they were put to the test, by bullies with superior numbers, their devastating victory sent news throughout the hoods like extraordinary battles that find their way into the chronicles of history.
The 7 Saints were bully opposites. Everyone loved or at least respected them whereas everyone hated bullies. Even a bully’s friends hate him (or her). The friendship is a security tactic.
My experience from the Bronx is not unique. We’ve all experienced bullies and ”saints”.
Everyone knows who bullies the world today. This bully is now threatening and provoking a not particularly friendly, but definitely determined nation that neither threatens or provokes anyone. I don’t know how this confrontation will play out, but one thing is certain, the bully always, eventually, picks on the wrong person and gets what he (or she) deserves. They never recover.

Fast Food, the type distributed by commercial corporations, exemplified by McDonalds, is not really food, but slow poison served in tasty eatable bulk.
Food is defined as any nutritious substance that people eat or drink to maintain life and health. Fast junk food maintains neither health or life. It simulates the eating process and stimulates taste receptors, but provides neither hunger relief or nourishment. By depriving the eater of nourishment while injecting real and artificial sugars, vicious fats and a flood of chemicals, it creates hunger that hides in waiting behind a fooled filled stomach.
Although no signs warn the customers of the dangers to their health (as are required on tobacco products), eating at fast food restaurants daily will kill more surely and faster than smoking daily.
Rather than list and detail the extensive amount of junk and chemicals in a Big Mac & Co, it should be enough to mention that the bun and burger do not deteriorate. Put them in a cupboard for weeks, months and even years and they will look basically the same as when they were bought. Bugs don’t want them. Bacteria doesn’t want them. Even mold and other microorganisms avoid them. This, I believe, is rather general knowledge. Why would any sane person voluntarily eat this junk and feed it to their children?
Sane and sane! The corporate directors peddle their products for profit. This is understandable. Profit sheets blind them to other considerations, be it people or nature. The mommies and daddies on the other hand are not understandable. Who jeopardizes their child’s health for any reason?
Although millions of junk eaters still walk and drive into the junk ”food” joints throughout the world, their numbers are declining and both McDonalds and Coca-Cola, to name two flagships, are struggling with falling numbers. Let’s, for the sake of the health of our children, hope this trend will continue and accelerate.

Young George chopped down a cherry tree and confessed when confronted by his father because he could not tell a lie. His father, impressed with his son’s honesty, pardoned him.
That’s what we are told. Typical fake news. Or fake story in any case.
George’s father, Augustine, a wealthy owner of a tobacco plantation worked by slaves, belonged to the Virginia gentry. He didn’t really pardon his son, but went into shock on hearing that his first born was smitten with truthfulness and died shortly afterwards. Apparently Augustine never got around to asking his son why he chopped down the tree. The question never appears in the (fake) story.
George, who couldn’t have been more than 11-years-old at the time, would have told him, ”To get at the cherries.”
Influenced by his father, George went on to become the first president of the USA. He started the trend among presidents that we can still witness today; treat people like expendable laborers or soldiers, avoid the truth and be willing to chop down any growth to get at what you want.

We have all been deluded, duped, conned or fooled at times. All of us. Even the smartest among us. It’s embarrassing, not to mention painful when our gullibility or naivety gets slapped with reality.
There’s now over 3000 architects, engineers and other professionals who, by applying the laws of math and physics, prove that the World Trade Center buildings 1, 2 and 7 must have fallen as the result of demolition. The buildings didn’t fall due to fire, but were brought down by explosions.
Let’s forget these professionals and bring forth a child. The one within you. Look! Look with the eyes of a child and think of a metal paperclip! The child knows that steel doesn’t collapse. It twists, bends, curves and leans but it doesn’t collapse. You knew that when you were eight-years-old. Just as you know that a cloth doesn’t cut; wood doesn’t flow, water doesn’t burn and a raw egg doesn’t bounce. Look at the steel-structured buildings coming down! Are they falling; twisting, bending or curving? Or are they collapsing! What do you say, kid?
Dear Citizen Deluded, the longer you wait to listen to the child within you, the more embarrassing and painful it will be. And the longer you will remain a prisoner of a delusion, a refugee from the truth.
