The Art of Waterboarding

Ship of State

We are traveling in a faulty ship
on a black sea
in a starless night.
A storm is approaching
as we head toward a rocky coast.
And the bad news…
The captain of the ship is deranged
and drunk on his own delusions.
This would be a nightmare,
if only it were a dream.

The chief puppet clown of the empire
proudly declares
enthusiasm for torture,
thereby declaring himself a criminal
in accordance with multiple laws
and international conventions.

None of the crew of the faulty ship
seem to have the word criminal
in their vocabulary.

And the good news…
The journey won’t be long.

Waterboarding

Waterboarding is the torture of choice because it inflicts the greatest amount of distress and pain in the shortest possible time with a minimum of equipment while leaving no proof of torture on the body.
