The Wind of Truth

The mighty try to keep truth out of their inn
by keeping the entrance selectively thin.
“Oh, what a sin”, they say with a grin. “It doesn’t fit in.”
Turned away again and again, truth starts to spin.
If it can’t get in making a point sharp and slim
it’ll have to go as a furious wind.
Goodbye inn.

How many have been damaged, how many have died?
How many can you deny, how many can you hide?
How high must your golden mountain be
to keep the light from reaching our side?
You have most of the possessions.
We have life on our side.
Time is beginning to slide.
The earth is gathering its pride.
Justice is mounting to ride.
The future is calling to love,
“Get ready to be life’s bride!”
***
We own the truth of life.
It can’t be bought because it has no price,
and makes the wealthy powerless
and the people strong as love.
