We often hear people, who considered themselves informed, criticizing people in general for being stupid. These “geniuses” complain about the victims of propaganda for being victims of propaganda. They may as well criticize those who lost a leg in a bomb attack for not being able to run fast enough. Instead of trying to remedy the situation by educating the victims, they criticize them and accuse them of being complicit in the crimes of the propagandists.
Dear “genius”, how are you going to oppose the rule of the propagandists without the aid of the people (who you consider stupid?) If stupidity were oil, you would have been invaded long ago.

I use the expression “talk out of one’s ass” exclusively to describe the benevolent lie, the one where someone claims to do something for a good, generous or helpful reason when in fact they are doing it for themselves. It’s the lie of altruistic thieves. It is and has been used by countries, groups and individuals. Empires, and even lesser aggressors, typically describe their conquests in terms of necessity, help or “saving” the victims of their conquests. Individuals do things for their children; religious groups for the sake of God; politicians for the economy; businesses to satisfy their costumers, and philanthropists of pure generosity. All this giving and all this help seems somehow to benefit the giver rather than the recipient of the “gifts”.
Fake news? It’s a fake world, a bullshit world with mountains of hypocrisy and deserts of despair where gardens of love should be. A world where an itsy-bitsy, teeny-tiny portion of Homo sapiens own more than half the resources of the world, and talk out of their asses to such a degree that they pollute the heavens and heat the skies. A world where truth-tellers are persecuted, ignored or ridiculed; a world where justice rides on the spirit of the times to deliver its “gift” to Homo sapiens, who will receive what they deserve and no more stinking talk will be heard.

can taint our determination
to fill the earth with harmony
and the people with love

listening to polished smiles talking about empty celebrities.
I lost my eye
watching decorated servants dance with sparkling greed.
I cracked my jaw
speaking life’s logical lessons to contaminated souls.
I warped my mind
thinking of the fear-filled fans of the status quo
defending the comforts of conformity
in their plastic-padded prisons.
My face has been darkened by defamation
from fanatics and fake philosophers.
But I’m part of a greater context
and have strength enough
to
gather energy from the sun
hold the earth in place
support singing birds and swinging children
collect stories from the wind,
nourishment from the rain
and determination from lovers
who pause in my shade
to adjust the harmony in the symphony of life.
