Let me get this straight, it’s no big deal to bomb and kill 1000s of babies, brides, carpenters and farmers for years, but if a few people from the sovereign countries being bombed shoot two handfulls of people in one of the bombing countries, it’s a horrible crime, an international tragedy?
What am I missing here?
Would it have been better if the Charlies had been killed by a hellfire missile launched from a drone? One of the victims could have been called a suspected militant and the others collateral damage. Would that have made the deaths OK? Or at least no big deal?
Are we supposed to believe that killing with handheld weapons is terrorism whereas killing with sophisticated high-tech weaponry is a security measure?
Surely no one implies that French lives are more important than those in other countries?
What would Voltaire have said:
– All men are equal; it is not their birth,
But virtue itself that makes the difference.
– Clever tyrants are never punished.
– Every sensible man, every honorable man, must hold the Christian sect in horror.
or Sartre:
– It (freedom) depends entirely upon the freedom of others and that the freedom of others depends upon our own. … I cannot make liberty my aim unless I make that of others equally my aim.
– Fascism is not defined by the number of its victims, but by the way it kills them.
– We always choose the good, and nothing can be good for us without being good for all.
or Fénelon
– it is infinitely more harmful for nation to wrong nation, than for family to wrong family. To abandon the sentiment of humanity is not merely to renounce civilization and to relapse into barbarism, it is to share in the blindness of the most brutish brigands and savages; it is to be a man no longer, but a cannibal.
Today he might have said,
-Je suis a human in the family of humanity.
or Brel:
If we only have love, we can melt all the guns
/—/ then death has no shadow, there are no foreign lands.
How did a nation of great philosophers get to have a president such as Hollande? His tongue should be terrorized because of his empty noble words about freedom and justice while he walks shoulder to shoulder with one of the most notorious mass-murderers (Netanyahu) of our times.
Je ne supporte pas l’hypocrisie!

Global suicide rates have increased 60% in the past 45 years.
On average, one person dies by suicide every 40 seconds somewhere in the world.

The snakes of hypocrisy attack the beautiful deer.
The feelings exploding within me touch all corners of my soul.
Discoveries of this magnitude occur rarely in life;
like finding a 200 carat diamond,
sighting a creature from outer space
or encountering an honest politician.
I don’t know how to deal with it.
I’ve never seen anything like this
or imagined it possible.
Yet the phenomena could be seen by everyone
on the streets of Paris the other day.
Hypocrisy achieved proportions never before witnessed
in the history of humanity.
It’s as if the KKK were honoring Martin Luther King,
or Hitler had professed a passion for religious tolerance.
Bibi (Binyamin Netanyahu) marched front and center
in the parade for freedom, against terrorism
and for ”our common civilization.”
He was flanked by two other
documented psychopaths
and accomplices in the genocide of the Palestinians.
These leading war criminals of our day
walked and talked as though
they didn’t know what the blood of innocents
tasted like on their well camouflaged fangs.
The other standard hypocrites were expected.
But Bibi’s gang?
The celebrities of evil?
To paraphrase Nina Simone,
Everyone knows about the Israeli Zionists,
Goddamn!

The French put boots down in Mali two years ago to help stop militant uprisings in the north. They seem to have been successful. Instead of leaving they signed on for an additional five years to build military bases and conduct operations. For security reasons. They aligned themselves with the major rebel group (MNLA) and even told the Malian army to stay away.
The French willingness to help the people of Mali is certainly generous considering the difficulties in France. The troops happen to be concentrated in the northeast on the border of Niger where the French corporation Areva mines uranium. (75% of electricity in France comes from nuclear plants.) Of course it’s a coincidence that Areva made investments of €1 900 000 000 around the time the French military got their 5-year contract to stay in the area. For security reasons.
Charlie cheer leaders are convinced that the French troops have killed Malians, rebels and terrorists altruistically. For security reasons. The French soldiers are Charlie too, aren’t they?
BTW: Mali also borders on Algeria. (No ”Welcome back” signs have been spotted on the Algerian side.)

Gapittee
Yeh, I know my teeth aren’t straight
and my eyes are weird
—unnatural even—
and they can’t see.
Nourishing green ideas enter my head
and I can hear you.
I can hear the dark thoughts
behind your light words.
I’ve never heard anyone mention my perfect ear
so I guess you can’t see very well either
and I don’t expect you to see
that my green nourishment
attempts to form love.

After shooting 12 people to death, the obviously professional military men, dressed in black and well-concealed from any surveillance cameras, made a calm and flawless escape … and left one of their ID-cards in the getaway car.
Left an ID-card in the getaway car!? Yeh, right! Je ne suis pas idiote. (I am not an idiot.)
We then learn, from BBC, that the getaway car car was abandoned after crashing into another car. ”Investigators later found Molotov cocktails and two jihadist flags in the car.”
Now Molotov cocktails and two jihadist flags in the getaway car!? Yeh, right! Je ne suis pas idiote.
Those flags in the car, could they have been black flags?

A reader asked why Captain Kate didn’t list the health effects of sugar in sodas and didn’t speak of the criminal policies of the Coca-Cola company.
I forwarded the mail to Kate and she replied:
I stated that sodas were a health hazard and that I believed the long term effects of aspartame, fructose and the other ingredients were get sick, suffer for a long time and die deadly. The third point of the Waterwork campaign proclaimed that drinking water instead of soda promotes the economy and health of the people. The effect of sugar wasn’t mentioned because I assumed this to be common knowledge. Isn’t it? Perhaps I’m wrong and should have pointed out soda’s prominent role in the obesity explosion with all the health risks, costs and sufferings inherent to the soft-drink habit. American children consume an average of 18 kilos of sugar a year from sodas. That’s 13 teaspoons of sugar a day. I even suggested putting warning texts on sodas equivalent to those on cigarettes. In summary, I didn’t mention the sugar because I thought people were aware of it and I was eager to point out that the light, zero and sugarless alternatives were no less hazardous.
The list of crimes by Coca-Cola stretches for miles; killing labor leaders, breaking up unions, using child labor in sugar cane fields, depleting and polluting of water supplies, sweat-shop slaves in China, … KillerCoke has a lot more info.
But, my bad, as they say these days, stems from my inability to grasp the shallow depth of knowledge about corporations. All major corporations wallow in crime. They are psychopathic organizations. Formally. Officially. It is written into their charter where it is explicitly declared that the pursuit of profit must be maintained above all other considerations. Empathy, sympathy, consideration of people or respect for life does not exist within its rules and regulations. The organizational DNA of a corporation has no feelings beyond the pleasure of profit. So when I mentioned that the Waterwork campaign could bring down a flagship of the corporate empire, I assumed people would understand what sort of victory this world be. I assumed wrong. My bad. A major corporation is geared to be criminal. The bigger the company, the greater the criminality. That which can be said about Coca-Cola can be said—with varying degree—about any major corporation.
Drink water!

1. Diabetes type 1 (Barn diabetes, not related to diet.)
The spread of this deadly (if not treated with daily doses of insulin) disease has reached pandemic proportions and is increasing with a whopping 5% per year worldwide. Researchers are agreed that environmental factors trigger the mechanism that knocks out the ability produce insulin, but don’t know which factors.
As insulin is one of the oldest, smallest and most basic proteins among the thousands we produce daily, disrupting this little chemical structure sounds danger to the clan of humanity.
2. Suicides
Never before in the history of humanity has the rate of suicides—throughout the world—clocked in at the present proportions. ”Something is happening here, but you don’t know what it is. Do you, Mr. Jones?” (Bob Dylan)
Mr. Jones would be helped by Wilkinson and Pickett’s book about inequality The Spirit Level.
3. Slavery
In American private prisons, in trafficking, in sweat shops and in debt servitude pure and de facto slavery thrives and is growing. Everywhere. How many need to go under before we can overcome?
4. Rape
Running a similar upward course as suicides and slavery, rape climbs the graph. If the rulers of the world show little respect for anything other than money and power, respect for people becomes diluted and men’s respect for women deteriorates. This is as alarming for the condition of humanity as the growth of diabetes type 1. Men are biologically programmed to protect women. The rape rate clearly indicates serious damage to the human psyche.
5. Love
Love is taking quite a beating. Hate rages out of control and divorces, broken relationships and loneliness develop along an upward curve. Not only are there many more lonely people now than when the Beatles asked where all the lonely people come from, but loneliness and alienation within relationships—sticking together of necessity—inflicts all too many people under the radar of statistics.
6. Awareness
One of the most powerful trends of our day, and one of the most positive, moves like a tide under a full moon onto the shores of human consciousness. More and more people are realizing that those who are in control are out of control. No one doubts that a great storm is approaching. Great storms tend to blow down the old and spread the new.
Bring it on!
