This stone nests at the center of a memory glade. It’s as tall as a desk. People, whose departed have no grave because of cremation, sit on the bench in front of it and think of lives once lived.
What do their memories give them? Do they see a smile? A vision once shared? Hear a laugh? Do they see joy radiating from grandpa as he walked with his granddaughter supporting herself by holding his finger? Do they see grandma sandwiched between her grandchildren as she reads them a story?
Memories. There are so few saved from so many years, the few that sweeten our lives.
“My biological memory is enormous, but it keeps crashing.”

The leaves and stones have gathered
in the sand
under water.
Spring branches watch over them.
A whispering wind calms the lake.
The sun offers its haze-filtered blessings.

CUPPLA = couple of.
Although a couple formerly means two it is often employed as a synonm for a few.
”How long are you going to be gone?”
”Cuppla days.” (between 2-5 days)
RESOURCE SHOCKS
The shocking effects caused by lack of resourcess: food, water, oil, buxite or any other resource vital to the global market.
Continued consumption in combination with climate change will, according to many, throw us into a world of conflicts started by resource shocks. Others claim that we are already there. The conflicts flaming in today’s world are RESOURCE WARS. That’s an older term than resource shocks. It needs no explanation.
HAZMAT
This term is formed combining HAZardous and MATerial. We can even speak of HAZMAT teams; people called in to deal with accidents involving hazmat.
Speaking of hazmat and recalling the post about fracking a cuppla days ago:
”People who live in fracking areas have been warned to open their windows when showering to avoid being asphyxiated (suffocated) because of the methane in the water.” Paul Craig Roberts

Why is there no Ministry of Love?
Department of Love or Bureau of Love?
Office, Commission, Agency, Council, Advisory Board?
Love Committee?
Nothing!
Why is that?
There’s a Department for Homeland Security.
How secure can we be without love?
There’s a Department of the Treasury.
What do we treasure more than love?
There’s a Department of Justice.
Life is unjust without love.
What about …. What’s that you say? Oh, yes! Of course.
Sorry about my questions. How foolish of me.
Love can’t be governed.
And if it could, we wouldn’t want it in the hands of the government.
Why is there no Ministry of Love?
Because love rules.
“Love, like God, unites.”

They decide in the shadows.
The decisions snake through
the jungle of command.
The rats race.
Fruits fall.
Drums try to sing.
Tears happen.
We turn toward the light.
Money grows in the shadows.
“As children we are afraid of the dark.
We grow up and become afraid of the light.”

Make no mistake about it. Fracking (Hydraulic Fracturing) is a crime. Calling it legal doesn’t make it less of a crime.
Fracking murders people and nature. It destroy vast supplies of water and contaminates the air with carcinogens and other toxins killing lakes, rivers, forests, bugs, birds and beasts. It ravages ancient strata of the earth and pours tons of harmful chemicals into the ground and the atmosphere. People? It steals their health, infects them with pain, destroys their homes, devastates their dreams and plunders their future.
It’s war! Like all war it is an enterprise of conquest. The frackers (corporate managers blessed by their political whores) invade an area and wreak havoc on everyone and everything within the territory of their invasion – plus damaging nearby towns and cities. They pump tons and tons and tons of highly chemicalized water deep into the earth at high pressure to break up (frack) rock formations and extract the gas that flows from the cracks.
Some of the hundreds of chemicals used in the fracking-prepared water are lead, uranium, mercury, ethylene glycol, radium, methanol, hydrochloric acid and formaldehyde. There are 500 000 active gas wells in the US alone using 8 million gallons of water and 40 000 gallons of chemicals per well. Each well can be fracked 18 times. The 1000s of trucks caravaning water, chemicals and supplies back and forth from the fracking sites constitute an environmental hazard by themselves.
Those speaking for fracking will tell you that the gas they extract is a much cleaner form of energy than oil. Tell them to go frack themselves. It’s a vulgarly polluting and extremely slimy operation to make dirty money for a handful of filthy rich people diseased with greed.

Yibikki waits in a corner of rock
her life dripping away.
She owns no fear
as she sends every drop on its way
to the earth.
Some shall run to the heights of great trees.
Some shall unite in mighty rivers
and flow to the sea.
Some shall soar to the sky
and travel on the wind to fall to earth,
bounce on a flower,
feed a worm
or turn to ice.
“The earth is our mother, not our servant.”

As so many times before in so many places the conversation wandered into fields of money. The mirage of the big win appeared. It would tame the temperament of life.
I’ve been here before. We all have. Like beasts we lay down and purr when the sirens of money sing their songs of seduction. Drugged on fantasies of luxury we embrace visions of entering the palace of happiness where the other wealthy live.
No one bursts the bubble. No one exposes the lie or explains how happiness lives in the health of the community. Money can’t buy away the nasty particles in the water and air that can attack our cells and those of our loved ones? It can’t turn down the heat on global warming that threatens us all. It can’t buy us the joy of walking among strange people secure in knowing that only our hearts can be stolen from the smiles we meet. The peace of mind that allows us to talk to roses can’t be bought with money.
We need merely look at the condition of our money-oriented world to see that money blinds us and leads us along muddy paths of injustice and destruction.
I need to have another talk with the wild roses in the shadows.
“Each kiss of beauty from a flower is a message of love from life.”

This talking head shouted at me as I walked the park path. At first I thought it wanted me to avoid stepping on it. But when I noticed what a dirty mouth it had, I realized that it was a genuine talking head, formed of bird shit.
The expression talking head refers to TV commentators who are normally seen behind a desk. The expression implies that the talker isn’t thinking very much, but speaking from a script or a teleprompter. It can be applied to anyone who speaks empty shit.
Nothing like a walk through the park and seeing a dirty-mouthed talking head formed of bird shit to brighten up the day.
“Because of his extensive education he could confuse anyone in six different languages.”
