OK, children, the Ministry of Diversion has decreed that everyone should discuss handguns in all possible ways in every classroom. You can say, show or sing whatever you like about handguns; for or against; advantages and disadvantages; deaths and incidents: bullets or laws, whatever. Take your time, but keep the discussion flowing.
Do not, under any circumstances, mention weapons or the weapons industry or the military budget or the 100s of 1000s of people killed or bodies torn or homes destroyed by big and powerful weapons. Stick to handguns and a few local deaths. The multitude of teachers, kids and lovers killed in other countries is not important. Any student that even alludes to the bloated military getting extra billions while unaccountable for trillions that they’ve already received will get a failing grade. Insistence on demanding accountability from the military may lead to suspension.

CNN ran an article titled:
”China to drop presidential term limits, clearing way for Xi Jinping to stay on”
Can you spot the propaganda? Hint: you don’t have to read the article, which, btw, doesn’t tell us that China is about to ”drop presidential term limits”, but, if a new proposal becomes legitimized, Jinping will be allowed to serve a third term.
Note: US president Roosevelt was elected for a third and forth period in the 1940s.
China is a capitalist country. They fly the communistic flag in the same way as the West flies the democratic flag. Both these systems, regardless of how they are labeled, are money-oriented. China lost it’s people-oriented trajectory even before Mao died.
The title exemplifies typical structural propaganda from the ”democratic” camp of the money-oriented world order. The intellectuals of this camp nod their heads and smirk when seeing the title. Few read the actual article, but it doesn’t matter. ”See,” think the intellectuals, ”those guys are about to have a permanent leader. They don’t play by the honorable rules of government as we do. Thank god we have the system we have.”
This is the same reasoning that believes it makes a difference which clown is ”elected” to be the figurehead of one of the money-oriented ”democratic” systems owned and ruled by the richest of the richest.
As long as a money-oriented system is in place, a picture of a dead cat can serve (permanently or not) as the figurehead. It matters little what color flag waves over the proceedings. The money-heavy rulers will be calling the shots in any case.

Besides indoctrination many people still believe the liars’ version of what happened when skyscrapers collapsed in September of 2001 because they are intellectual cowards or misosophers. Misosophers are the opposite of a philosophers. They fear and avoid the truth rather than love and desire it.
The extraordinary event that toppled three mighty high-rise buildings, blew a hole in a five-star military administration center and killed 3000 people is not just any crime. It exposes the nature of our times in general and the character of the leading world power in particular. The misosophers reveal their cowardliness not only by obedience to the dogma of the rubber-stamped fairy tale denying laws of physics, as well as their creativity in patching over obvious inconsistencies, but also their fundamental arrogance in shutting out the arguments of those who have no vested interests in the events. The clearest evidence of their cowardliness however lies in their reluctance to investigate what happened themselves. They eagerly accept the explanation of those who have a long record of immorality and dishonesty, and who have blatantly demonstrated international high-criminality by illegally invading and destroying a country. Rather then actively look into readily available information contradicting the officially approved story written by approved officials they follow the herd and go about their business chewing on the ”facts” served to them by corporate channels of disinformation.
Ferdinando Imposimato died recently. He was the honorary President of the Italian Supreme Court and one of the most respected defenders of justice in Europe. In Sept. 2012, he wrote in the Journal of 9/11 Studies, “The 9/11 events were an instance of the strategy of tension enacted by political and economic powers in the USA to seek advantages for the oil and arms industries.” He also explained how the event was designed to support the invasion of Iraq.
Intellectual cowards are not criminals, but neither are they worthy of intellectual respect.

I ran into Captain Kate* the other day. We had a very pleasant talk. When I asked about The Holy, she was reluctant to talk about him, but I persisted until she related:
– I think he’s losing it. He spends all his time sculpturing agates. First he polishes them, then cuts them and then polishes them again creating the most fantastic small and not-so-small sculptures. He is quite creative, you know. Anyone can come and watch, but he never says anything unless someone asks why he doesn’t help humanity.
– Do you see a gem you are particularly fond of? he asks.
When they select one, he grabs a hammer that he claims used to belong to Thor, and smashes the gem to dust in one blow and asks the shocked person who posed the question,
– I gave them life and they choose things. How do you suggest that I respond to that insult?
– No one answers him and he continues working. Sometimes he whistles softly, Sympathy for the Devil.

You might have heard about the 16-year old who was killed by Israeli soldiers the other day. You probably didn’t get the details. The T-shirt clothed boy had thrown a stone at the ”defense” forces wearing helmets, body armor and carrying all manner of soldier paraphernalia. The soldiers (with a right to defend themselves and the apartheid regime they represented) chased the kid down with their jeep and shot him pointblank in the head.
Have you notice the übermensch mentality of the killers? The same how-dare-you-oppose-us mentality that gunned down nine unarmed volunteers on the ship Mavi Marmara bringing humanitarians aid to the desperate people of Gaza. Or that gunned down the United Nations first official mediator Folke Bernadotte in 1948 because his truce proposal was a relatively fair one.
Israel has been demonstrating its depraved mentality, criminal behavior and evil nature for 70 years. Have you noticed that this pariah country is still treated as a normal member of the UN and an honorable nation of the world? Why is that? Why is such brazen and deadly criminality allowed to continue? One thing is certain, if such evil can go unopposed and even tolerated by the UN, the UN is a worthless organization.

Further proof of the UN’s impotency was demonstrated recently when the US declared that it will maintain troops in Syria. This is illegal according to the UN’s own charter. What country is allowed to place troops in another country simply because it wants to? The Syrian government has protested. To no avail. Although there are many similar examples, this one illustrates how openly major international law can be broken without meeting resistance. The US didn’t even bother to justify its presents. ”We will place our boots and bombs here. If you don’t like it, go fuck yourself!”
Have you noticed that we live in a lawless world? It’s not just the major perpetrators of major international crimes, but every diplomat, politician, official and dignitary who sits on their privileged positions and says nothing in the face of crime, evil and decadence.
This is our world order. It’s portrayed in bright colors and sexy outfits, but it’s just sickening slime. Cough… sneeze… wheeze… choke… pain… whimper…

Andrew Bacevich published ”How We got Donald Trump” on TomDispatch (Jan. 30, 2018). It’s an ”if” article telling us how things would be different if we had done things differently. Like many of the empire’s unintelligentsia, he seems unaware that the Don is just another clown of the empire. Once an empire, any empire, goes over the hill and starts its decline it produces Trumps, Obamas, Clintons and Bushes or Neros and Caligulas as surely as rats produce rat shit.
As long as societies are money-oriented instead of people-oriented we are going to have empires run by rats, snakes, weasels, earwigs, slugs and all manner of slimy creatures shitting on everyone below them. Although history shows not a single exception to this standard rise and fall trajectory, the unintelligentsia keep trying to freshen things up by painting over the rust and rot with if-ism.
Like many of his peers, Bacevich draws the conclusion:
”Our president is a product and beneficiary of several decades worth of vainglory, cynicism, epic folly, political cowardice, missed opportunities, and a public not given to paying attention. … in a very real sense, we all put him there.”
You noticed, of course, OUR president and WE put him there. You should also have noticed that he ”forgot” to mention the billionaire corporate commanders. You know, the people who just happen to be at the receiving end of ”our” president’s policies. I guess he’s just an absentminded professor (of history and international relations) in the bosom* of the empire.

As the empire declines its clowns become more outrageous and its words more deceitful. The word democracy has trouble making appearances, so ”oligarchs” often makes an appearance. Oligarch is suitably abstract. Plutocrat must be avoided. Its too close to home. We don’t want to start naming names and using clear language, do we.

How can the clown surrender something he doesn’t have? Total power? The clown has as much power as… a clown. The plutocrats (the richest of the richest who own the show) decide who dances center stage. The clowns, along with the other performers, directors and stagehands, do what they’re told. They don’t tell the bosses what to do and they certainly don’t surrender (total!) power they don’t have. Claiming that the clowns have power implies that they got that power democratically. Anyone who believes that must believe that the struggling-to-survive majority want to give their money to the riches of the richest, or that money just happens to flow into the pigbanks of the giga-wealthy by some sort of natural phenomenon.
In a discussion about Oprah’s denial of presidential ambitions the other day, one lady commented, ”It doesn’t matter what she wants or doesn’t want. She’ll do what she’s told. If they (the plutocracy; the powers that be) want her to run for president she’ll run for president.”
The plutocrats were testing the waters with Oprah. They might be able to run with the present clown-in-chief for another four years. He certainly sells tickets. And the show must go on even if clowns play the heroes in this declining-empire tragedy.
