The quote is from William Blum, who, like many of his intellectual peers both past and present, trips over a piece of ignorance to make a ridiculous statement. I wonder if, when he falls, he says, ”I’m sick and tired this thing called gravity.”
Patriotism is a biological response to a threat against one’s community, a primitive response as natural to biological creatures as gravity to the laws of physics. The patriotic response can be witnessed in herds, flocks and packs when the group is threatened. In society-building species such as bees, ants and homs (homo sapiens), the response is particularly intensive and violent. Individuals on the front lines of defense risk and offer their lives for the sake of the community.
A community can survive the death of individuals, but no individual survives the death of the community. Patriotism, the natural tendency to defend one’s community, has been exploited by the owners of society and employed in the defense of their own interests. This has been done for thousands of years by pharaohs, emperors, kings, sultans and all forms of potentates, and will continue until we see that the owners of the community defend nothing beyond their own power and wealth derived from an illusion of their ownership.
The illusion of ownership
A community can be divided, but it can’t be owned; no more than the earth and its resources can be owned. Life and nature may appear to accept such insults, but they follow rules beyond the limits of a mere species, regardless of the species’ arrogance and imagined strength. In time, all insults are repaid.
Once the subjects of the rulers couple their patriot response to their own community, the community of citizens, the power of true patriotism will shatter their chains of servitude to the false rulers, the illegitimate owners who award themselves the right to represent the people by virtue of their wealth and their spectacular illusions of democracy. Once the people shed their sick-and-tired passivity and obedience to debased nationalism in the service of despots, tyrants, plutocrats and all manner of rulers waving ”patriotic” symbols, the road to liberation, peace, prosperity, justice and love will lie open.
Perhaps it’s time to abandon the compromised term patriotism (defense of the fatherland). Even the term matriotism (defense of mother earth) should be inadequate, not to mention arrogant. The latest “pandemic” has shown that the community of Homo sapiens (Homs; humanity) is our greatest entity, the ultimate community. We, the latest form of life, of intelligent living energy, the children of the sun and the earth, are one. Homsism (defense of our species) calls. Homsists unite! We have nothing to lose but our illusions and obedience to false, decadent, money-oriented rulers. The harmonious world of people-oriented people awaits us.
We either struggle together for each other or we perish together.

The F in PhF stands for fake or failure. It denotes an individual with a PhD who demonstrates anti-academic behavior, whether through corruption or stupidity.
Dr. David Hughes, who lectures on International Relations (IR) at the University of Lincoln (UK), submitted an article for peer review to Sage Journals entitled 9/11 Truth and the Silence of the IR Discipline (Feb. 27, 2020). The article questioned the silence in the IR community about the “massive body of evidence” questioning “the official narrative regarding the events of 9/11.”
A large chorus of PhDs responded to the article and proved themselves to be PhFs. I present two samples which can be regarded as typical for these failed pseudo-philosophers.
Dr Nicholas Kitchen, lecturer in International Relations at Surrey University:
”I was asked – and declined – to review it. Had I done so, I would certainly have rejected it.

PhF Kitchen must be professionally stupid. A simple corrupt PhF couldn’t write such nonsense. He makes specific judgments about a paper he claims not to have read, and assumes that “any serious academic” would do the same thing.
Typical for Kitchen and similar PhFs is their lack of mentioning the ideas they claim to be criticizing; childish, sandbox name calling and insinuations with zero academic discipline. PhF Kitchen’s “serious academic” posture is as serious as a pimp’s concern for moral values.

Let’s now hop over to Trevor Bedford, the poster boy for the official story of the new “natural” Corona virus. A team of nine high-level researchers at the Biology Department of the Indian Institutes of Technology in Delhi published a peer-review article about four (spike-protein) inserts to COVID-19 which are unique compared to other corona viruses. The researches make the case that the inserts are similar to key structural proteins of HIV-1 and unlikely to have occurred naturally, but “probably took place through an engineered intervention by experts in microbiology.”
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a third-party?, “non-profit” organization turned to Dr. Bedford to debunk the claims of the Indian researchers. Bedford’s only comment, besides promoting his own “natural development” claims, states that the research of the Indian experts “was very shoddily done,”. Congratulations Mr. Bedford, you’ve just earned your PhF. Your comment was not only stupid, and non-academic, but stinks of racism hoping your readers know nothing about the solid reputation of the Indian Institutes of Technology. Your comment is also criminal slander. I’d say, “Shame on you” if I didn’t have a very strong suspicion that you’re a shameless rent-a-professor. Your association with AAAS strengthens my suspicions because they advertise a service which pimps academic whores. “CASE (Court Appointed Scientific Experts) staff elects experts on a case-by-case basis, tailoring the search to the specific request for assistance.”
I wonder what PhF Bedford has to say about the Italian and Iranian corona viruses being of two different types (not just variations)? Let me guess, the Iranian virus speaks a shoddy Italian.
