Snapshot of the Empire

GudsPearl1050127

“We’re not going to do it scientifically this time, we’re going to do it politically.”

Let me deal with the quote before revealing the source and context. Translated into common speech it reads:
“Not with truth, but money.” (science deals with truth, politics deals with money)

The quote exemplifies a psychopath, a worshipper of money. Not truth, money! Our psychopath is locked into making money and building influence. No other issues are of concern, not truth, people, nature or the environment. He’s a hard-working, dedicated, knowledgeable and talented player who doesn’t have time to think about anything other than accomplishing the tasks he’s committed to resolve.
That’s the way it works. Not truth, money! He will do what it takes to make money.

Unlike most of the other fixers, dealers and economic hitmen, he’s at the top of the heap, a commander in the war for riches. Commanders never come anywhere near their victims. They get the job done. Should anyone point out that the results of a profitable deal can cause sickness and death and do considerable damage to 100s of 1000s of people, our commander wouldn’t recognize the charges and claim that the figures are way out of proportion. A certain amount of collateral damage occurs despite efforts to reduce them as far as possible. He says collateral damage as though talking about toilet paper.

Contempt for truth and worship of money characterizes the entire ruling strata of the land. It wouldn’t surprise me if “Money, not truth” was etched into the back of the little flag they wear on their lapel. They are the winners in a money-oriented system. Should they question their privilege, their historical victory? Of course not.

Now let’s give the quote a face and put it in a context. Donald Rumsfeld used the quote as a battle cry in his charge to defeat the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) and get the artificial sweetener aspartame approved for food and drink products. It had been turned down twice before. There was good reasons to regard aspartame as dangerous. Rumsfeld used his position to appoint his man, Arthur Hayes, as commissioner of the FDA and it no longer mattered what the scientists at FDA wanted or said. Hayes approved sweet, and deadly, aspartame despite the warnings and recommendations of the FDA scientists.

Rumsfeld used the word scientific in the quote above because he knew all about Searle’s shoddy research and the dangers of aspartame. He was the fixer. He had to know. They had never tried science. Not with the first submission or the second one. They tired fake research. It didn’t work. Rumsfeld knew that aspartame didn’t stand a chance of ever reaching the public if real science decided. The people who would be affected and even die? He didn’t care. Collateral damage can’t be avoided in war and business. The details don’t interest him. Just as it doesn’t interest his homies. Money is what they are all about and that is what this is all about.

Contempt for truth and worship of money characterizes the entire ruling strata. Rumsfeld is merely one of the flock. Kissinger, Cheney, Snyder (Flint), all the presidents and all money’s horses and all money’s men. Or, as Kurt Vonnegut wrote in one of his last pieces before he died, ”They just don’t give a fuck.”

Too late to wake up, covered in flies,
there’ll be nobody left, to shout, “Surprise!”

The Love of Expert Money

Cymbal1050101

My granddaughter was two years old when diagnosed for (child) diabetes 1. Daily injections of insulin and continuous control of the sugar level in her blood will be necessary for the rest of her life. The shadow of death would always be in her vicinity.

I hadn’t known that there was such a thing as Diabetes 1. The hospital presented all visitors with a single sheet of paper stating that this disease was increasing by 3% a year worldwide, and that heredity factors were the most likely cause.
Heredity factors! Impossible! Heredity factors cannot increase by 3% a year. Biology doesn’t work that way.

If the information sheet had said that an increase of 3% indicates environmental factors (which it does), I would have nodded and assumed that the authorities had this thing under control. When I read the nonsense about heredity factors, I started my quest to find out what was going on.

People became irritated when I pointed out the fallacy of the authorities. Who was I to question the authorities, medical experts? I was someone with a rudimentary knowledge of biology and evolution. That’s all it takes to know that heredity factors cannot increase by 3% a year. How could authorities be so basically wrong? Before I answer that question allow me to point out that now, less than a decade later, Diabetes 1 is increasing by 5% a year and most authorities recognize environmental factors to be the main culprit.

Back to the main question. How could medical authorities have been so basically wrong? Donald Rumsfeld can answer that question.

Donald was made CEO at the G.D.Serle corporation to get the artificial sweetener Aspartame (NutraSweet) approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). It had already been rejected twice. Reports of dangerous side-effects had been turning up and G.D.Serle’s research papers were “the shoddiest ever seen anywhere.” Some of the work was judged to be criminally fraudulent. Serle was on trial for attempting to fool authorities with false reports when Donald was planning his attack to defeat the FDA. He revealed his strategy candidly, “We’re not going to do it scientifically this time, we’re going to do it politically.”

When Donald joined newly elected President Reagan’s staff, he hand-picked Arthur Hull Hayes, Jr to be the new commissioner of the FDA. Hayes went against the recommendations of the FDA scientists and even snubbed his own advisory council’s recommendation to deny approval for aspartame. He approved it anyway. And the rest is just profit and pain. Profit for a few, pain for the many. Hello obesity, diabetes and brain tumors, some of the effects of aspartame according to G.D.Serle’s own incomplete research—that they tried to bury—as well as reports from independent researchers.

So how could authorities be so basically wrong? As Donald showed, they can be bought to act politically rather than scientifically, medically or morally. The experts follow the dictates of money as prescribed by the structure of our money-oriented society. That’s it. That’s the whole deal. Science, truth, morals, justice, empathy, right and wrong or good and bad doesn’t matter. Nothing but the quest for money matters. Donald’s actions in the service of a large corporation illustrate this with deadly clarity.

Thousands of people have already died, thousands more have contracted ailments and 100s of thousands have grown obese since the introduction of aspartame in soft drinks and other food products in the 1980s. One of the reports that G.D.Serle stopped and tried to bury showed that baby mice fed with aspartame developed holes in their brains. Searle claimed that the test was stopped because of inadequate procedures and added that there was no convincing evidence that this artificial sweetener affects the brain. One of the FDA toxicologists, Dr. Adrian Gross, testified in Congress (Aug.1, 1985, Congressional Record SID835:131) that at least one of Searle’s own studies “has established beyond ANY REASONABLE DOUBT that aspartame is capable of inducing brain tumors in experimental animals /—-/ the cancer causing potential of aspartame is a matter that had been established WAY BEYOND ANY REASONABLE DOUBT.”

Those who tend to believe Searle’s claim of aspartame’s innocence will also tend to believe that the 40% increase in brain tumors since the introduction of aspartame is merely a coincidence. Another coincidence shows diabetes increasing to pandemic proportions since aspartame hit the market after having maintained a stable level of occurrence for 20 years. Please add the explosive increase in obesity as another coincidence.

The same powers and mentality that conquered the FDA had little trouble saturating the scientific community with heredity as the cause of diabetes 1 so that experts wouldn’t look for the real reasons. That worked for a while. So now we’re looking for viruses, intestinal bacteria and other biological villains plus the invisible energy waves from digital devices to explain the brain tumor increases.

It would appear as though D. Rumsfeld, the Searle corporation and Arthur Hull Hayes, Jr were willing to fatten, sicken and kill 100s of 1000s of people for money. Truth be told, that’s not the choice these people were making. They were, like thousands of their peers still are, blind to all considerations beyond money. Make the deal! Make the profit! Nothing else matters.

That’s their truth. Reality sees super hitmen, people who kill for money, lots of kills, lots of money. Arthur Hull Hayes, Jr, for instance, held degrees in philosophy, politics, economics, medicine and pharmacology. He was assistant professor of medicine and pharmacology at Cornell University, a director of clinical pharmacology at the Penn State University Medical School, Commissioner of the FDA, dean of New Your Medical College and president of EM Pharmaceuticals Inc.
And a well-paid hitman.

Donald R. and aspartame prove, ”way beyond any reasonable doubt”, that experts can be bought. That’s the way a money-oriented system does things. It buys experts as easily as a teenager buys a soda laced with aspartame and other poisons.

Editing Einstein’s Grammar

BarkDragon1040146

“Never do anything against conscience even if the state demands it.”
That quote is attributed to Einstein by Barbara Loe Fisher in Mercola, Nov. 7, 2017

Whether or not Albert said that, I’d like to edit it a bit for grammar and style.
“Never do anything against conscience even if the state demands it.”

”Never” is too extreme. We all do things against our conscience at times. Where do all of these bad consciences come from?

”anything” is extremely vague. Anything? That’s the opposite of everything and includes walking on the grass, jaywalking and thinking unauthorized thoughts.

”even if” is the weak link in this chain of reasoning. It weakens the nature of the state. We get the impression that the state makes demands on our conscience exceptionally. In contrast to that perspective, compare the following edited edition with the original:

Don’t go against conscience because the state demands it.
Never do anything against conscience even if the state demands it.

Not only is the edited quote sharper and more explicit, it is 18% shorter.

9 words instead of 11. Two words less. 18%. Not much? Not much! Suppose 18% of all text masses contained sentences that could be improved in clarity and save the reader 18% less time. (There’s a lot more than 18%) That’s 18 times 18 = 324%. Multiply this by millions of readers and witness the serious number of hours saved by small improvements in grammar and style.

BTW, if  we allow the two words to represent ink and carbon powder instead of time and multiply this by the printers throughout the world we should see a skyscraper of printer cartridges before us. Created by small improvements in grammar and style.

Geese and Turds

CanadaGeese-1050085

Eat grass, fertilize grass.
Manurize grass.
Black and white geese
produce black and white manure.
They look as different from each other
as you and I
and all the people we meet?
The markings from their eye to their beaks,
the line that forms between the black and white
running from the head
to the neck,
the length of the neck, beak and chest size all vary.
The geese can recognize a loved one 100 meters away.
And they can express joy
to each other.
They are doing quite well, the geese,
the grass eaters.
Can’t say the same for bats, bugs, bees and birds.
And insects.
Humanity is killing them,
more and more, faster and faster.
And other things as well
(besides each other).
Life will survive,
but not many of the species living today.
Humanity is already suffering.
Besides a catastrophic drop
in the general health standards
every member of humanity
has a contaminated body.
Our children are born polluted,
more and more, faster and faster.
Maybe if we learned to eat grass…?
(”Maybe if you learned to shit
black and white turds,”
I hear a goose say.)

All ”We” Need Is Love

MarbleCandle-1040989

All you need is love, sang the flower-power generation. Don’t worry about how you’re dressed… all you need is love. The fashion industry couldn’t keep up to the creativity of the people dressing themselves in anything that fit.

You didn’t need to get married… all you needed was love. Any kind of a party would do. We’re moving in together… all we need is love.

We need not deal with the differences between the flower-power generation and the culture of today to agree that flower-power culture was defeated and assimilated into the present Barock culture, where extravagant diversions dominate the cultural landscape.
All you need is money.

Defeated doesn’t mean wrong. The bully is constantly defeating his victims. The Age of Enlightenment was defeated by Romanticism. The Age of Enlightenment wasn’t wrong.

It’s always a question of We, Them, Me.

Who are ”We”? Humanity should fit into our We. That’s our only hope.

And ”Them”? Who are ”Them”? Them’s the Ones that got all the money and guns.

Which brings us to ”Me”. Our ”Me” is a gift of life, a present from the sun. Whether we like it or not, recognize it or not, Me is an element in community We. If we pretend that Me is a loose element, We grows weaker by one element.

The community, We, garantees individual freedom. We need look no further than the space we occupy. How much of it contains items we could have produced ourselves? How many of the items contain parts that come from lands and people far away? How many people were involved in mining, growing, manufacturing, packaging, researching, transporting, warehousing and selling the items all over the world? How many people are involved in providing us with transportation whether car or train, bus, cycle, boat or plane?

Our lives, health, freedom and standard can only be provided by the community. A healthy community is based on healthy people. By keeping all of the people healthy everyone keeps healthy. Ditto for freedom and standard. A free people raise the standard of the community to raise the standard for themselves. A healthy community works on projects to enhanced the well-being of the members of the community. A sick community takes from the community to enhance the well-being of a few super-wealthy people.

Are there any doctors in the house? Lovers?

Three Big Secrets

CandleHolder1040986
Big secret one:
In a just society,
a people-oriented society,
everyone,
including the richest people today,
would have a much much better life.
Instead of war, peacock fashion, empty consumption, crime, insecurity, entertainment diversions, conflicts, corruption, anger, fear, stress, sicknesses…
the citizens of a just and healthy society would be characterized by calm and determined motivation.
Wouldn’t it be nice to travel anywhere in the world meeting only friendly people and being able to speak with everyone? A world without fear. How rich would your life be then?
When the poorest among us is secure in all basic needs
then everyone leads a rich life.

Big secret two:
That’s not an altruistic ideal.
Either you lead a rich life or you go under.
A just world is not a lofty desire, but a survival necessity.
Nothing less than a well-functioning humanity can prevent the extinction of humanity. Nothing.

Big secret three:
Love is wealth. Health is wealth. Work is wealth. Friends are wealth. Peace is wealth. Security is wealth. Freedom is wealth. Love is wealth. Education is wealth. Honesty is wealth. Trust is wealth. Smiles are wealth. Happiness is wealth. Love is wealth. Justice is wealth. Equality wealth. Helpfulness is wealth. Respect is wealth. Politeness is wealth. Love is wealth. Confidence is wealth. Motivation is wealth. Dependability is wealth. Tolerance is wealth. Kindness is wealth. Laughter is wealth. Sharing a pillow is wealth. Possibilities are wealth. The pursuit of happiness is wealth. Hugs are wealth. Nourishing food is wealth. Clean air and water are wealth. Love is wealth.

I Pledge Allegiance…

PrayingSteel-1040957

Why do we have nationalistic political ceremonies at sports events? The public attends football games to watch football games. The singing, standing and flag waving have nothing to do with football or any other sport. But the powers that be have welded the love of sports to a political ceremony and accuse the disobedient of mixing politics with sports.

Why do we need a political flag ceremony to kick off sporting events? A play, lecture, dance or symphony doesn’t start this way. Directors don’t stand in silence listening to the Star Spangled Banner before a board meeting.

What if the home team were to choose an opening song and encouraged the spectators to sing along. Lennon’s Imagine, for example, or Nobody Knows the Troubles I’ve Seen, or Where Have All The Flowers Gone, or Sympathy For The Devil or any of the 10s of 1000s of possible alternatives. Is it unpatriotic to imagine?

We’re supposed to salute the symbols, but not discuss real events. The military views disobedience to the song and flag ceremony as an insult, a heresy. Kaepernick’s refusal to stand during the national anthem tore their act and he consequently comes under attacked for being unpatriotic; for insulting the men and women fighting for our freedom; for disrespecting those who have fallen in duty; and so on…

Let’s skip the fact the Kap’s protest had nothing to do with the military. Not a word. But now that the military has brought it up, what is the connection between football and the military, between sports and the military, and, most significantly, the flag and the military? The American flag does not express a love of military so much as it does love of liberty and justice for all. That’s how the American people view their flag as expressed in the closing phrase of their pledge of allegiance, “with liberty and justice for all”.

This is expressed differently in the final lines of the Star Spangled Banner,
”O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?”

That’s a question. Does it? Does the SSB-flag still wave over the land of the free? We have to disregard the largest prison population in the world, almost more than the rest of the world combined. We can hardly count those to the free. What about the millions employed at wages they can’t survive on? Are they free? Do the citizens have privacy? Are they secure in their health needs? Do they have shelter. Are they well-nourished? Do they have clean water? Can they trust the authorities? If their government is 99% 1%ers, how free can they be?

If the flag doesn’t represent our freedoms, it doesn’t represent us at all. It represents our right to privacy, our right to be secure in our homes, our right to justice, our right to speak, write, discuss and gather freely… the flag represents our rights, our freedoms. It does not represent the military creating enemies all over the world in its name.

The soldiers, mercenaries and terror groups that make up the US military force do not defend our freedom. They kill and get killed to defend the freedom of corporate commanders to gather wealth by any means available. The military is a tool of the rulers, the owners, the plutocracy.

The flesh and blood people who get killed in war today floods our imagination. All this destruction, sorrow and scars.

“With liberty and justice for all.” To this I pledge my allegiance.

Today’s Devils

ParkDevil1040818

Today’s devils never appear as devils.
People would recognize them,
resist
and possibly defeat them.
Devils don’t want us to fear them,
they want us to fear everything
except them.
We should fear things abstract,
complicated,
large,
different,
on a high level,
far away,
uncertain,
definitely uncertain.
The devils are all over the place
well-dressed,
clean,
smiling,
authoritative,
definitely authoritative.
They are willing to protect us
from our fears.
They are confident
that they can keep making us believe
that they and only they
can deal with the problems threatening us,
while they and only they
are the source of our problems
and are our only threat.

Democrazy Plutocratic Democracy

LifeFindsAWay9A9093

If the word democracy doesn’t mean rule of the people or rule of the majority it doesn’t mean anything. Yet it is employed daily to describe societies where a tiny minority of the richest people rule. Hardly a secret. Nor should it be a secret that it is the tiny minority that most frequently uses the word democracy to describe its (plutocratic) rule.

The other day historian Timothy Snyder was given an entire page in Sweden’s largest ”serious” newspaper (Dagens Nyheter) to discuss tyranny and the threat to democracy.

According to Snyder, ”Trump can destroy American democracy if he doesn’t encounter strong resistance.”

I’m going to whisper my reply so that I don’t disturb the sensitivities of Snyder, his peers, the newspaper or its readers:

If there was any democracy in the USA Trump would never have become president.

I don’t need to whisper that again, do I? The American people were given the choice of voting for two representatives of 1% of the population, the richest 1%. The entire government, The Congress and The House of Representative, are with few exceptions members of the 1%. The laws and policies legislated by this government favors the 1% who grow richer and richer while the people, the majority of citizens, grow poorer and poorer.

Pray tell, Snyder (and the rest of the delusional or lying authorities who constantly take the name of democracy in vain), how can Trump destroy something that doesn’t exist?

I will, in normal voice, repeat that as a closing statement,
Pray tell, learned ladies and gentlemen, how can something that doesn’t exist be destroyed?
(It can only be created.)

Democracy Threatens Our Way of Life

FactorySky-1040754

Democracy threatens our way of life.
Democracy.
No doubt about it.
It’s a threat because our way of life isn’t democratic,
and democracy is the only alternative.
Our way of life does not
enforce the will of the people,
the majority.
Our way of life does not
reflect the wants and needs of the people,
the majority.
Our way of life does not
enact laws, decisions and policies
promoting the health and aspirations of the people,
the majority.
Reality is crystal clear about this.
Our way of life is threatened by democracy
and we must promote and support this threat
to rid ourselves of this way of life
(which really isn’t ours)
and create a democratic one
where the people,
the majority
rule.

Our way of life is a Plutocracy
run by plutocrats,
a tiny, very wealthy, minority.
Our way of life allows us
to watch a political circus extravaganza
and vote for one of the clowns
to represent the plutocrats
in our name.
The super wealthy rule.
Their will,
their desire to constantly increase their wealth,
rules.
Reality is crystal clear about this.

Reality is clear about many things,
but if we don’t see the difference
between Plutocracy and Democracy,
our crystal is cracked,
we see nothing
and our way of life
(which really isn’t ours)
isn’t really threatened.
