Daughters of the Wind

LogVitsipps8623

Wood Anemone have invaded the forests with beauty, fragrance, purity and innocence. The word anemone comes from Greek meaning “daughter of the wind.”
Daughter of the wind, indeed. These small flowers drive the Swedes crazy. They smile at strangers and say Hello. They’re actually saying, ”Spring is definitely here. Praise be to life. Hallelujah!”

I wonder if the billionaires enjoy their billions as much as the people enjoy the billions of the wind’s daughters?

The anemones don’t care if you enjoy them or not. They’re here to capture the rays of the sun before the leaves of the trees grabs them all. The anemones also prepare the forest soil to nourish the other inhabitants of the forest, trees included.

The ones in the picture above have gathered round a fallen pine, to give comfort and apologize for the fury of their mother.

The fury of the mother! Nature has no fury like that caused by the greed of humanity. The fury is building. Humanity will eventually be felled like poorly rooted trees in a hurricane. But don’t worry, the daughters of the wind will help make the forests thicker, just as other small and innocence elements will make the oceans livelier, the skies clearer and the earth richer.

Sun, water and earth also have children.

Bee Mine

Blomma&bi_2331

One of my mentors had cared for bee hives for many years and spoke of bees as ”noble animals.” Allan was one of the most knowledgeable and wisest people I knew.

These noble animals communicate through dance. The bee dance signals the direction and length to a pollen source, perhaps even what type of flower.

The noble animals are in perfect balance with nature. They do the flower a service and the flower pays in pollen. The flower and the bee are mutually satisfied. No one makes demands on the other to work faster or produce more. Both do what they do in mutual appreciation for each other.

Unfortunately, bees cannot see chemical attacks. They can’t see pesticides that they pick  and deposit in the honey at the hive. Their weakened bodies must be pepped up with vitamins, antibiotics and other drugs that also get deposited into the honey.

There is of course pure honey, tasty, sweet and nourishing. But pure honey isn’t going to jump into your shopping cart. You have to be careful.

FarmHoney8607

If you’re stressed, or in a hurry, or eager to get out of the store, or just plain everyday dizzy, it would be easy to put this jar of ”Gårds”honey into your cart. The name formally means little or family farm and awakens associations to small scale and local. The simple label with ”stitched” border strengths this impression.  But we should be  suspicious by the ”Blomhonung” (Flower Honey) under the bee-logo. Flower honey! You don’t say? Whew, I’m glad the bees didn’t gather the pollen from bark or snakes.

The first line of the small print to our left states: ”A mixture of non-EU honey.”

A strange label. Translation: You know absolutely nothing about this honey other than it comes from somewhere, maybe many places, outside the European Union.

There are tons and tons of honey in circulation that can’t be legally sold in EU and other countries because they are contaminated with pesticides, lead and antibiotics.

This jar of small farm flower honey however is probably, well maybe, perhaps?, hopefully perfectly safe. The authorities wouldn’t allow contaminated honey on EU shopping shelves, would they. On the other hand, it is obligatory to declare the origin of a product. Non-Eu is hardly a declaration of origin.

Oh, go ahead and eat it anyway! The bees will soon all be gone because of the poisons. Show a little solidarity!

Smashed Glass in the World

SmashedGlass8564

It’s an ad poster under glass at a tram stop, hit with a … ? Can’t be a bullet that made that double hole, must be a blunter object. A rock or the bottom of a bottle … Bottle, I’m guessing, a right-handed thrower judging by the pattern of crystals from the point of impact.

Causing damage is at least causing something. Typical behavior for people deprived of their biological right to take part in the management of their community. This is the best they can do. Destroy something. Mark your territory. Show that you exist, that you are here.

From a meeting between an alienated and un-sober young person and a commercial message comes this magnificent portrait of explosive passion radiating from collateral damage. Take out one suspect and create 100. Is that the strategy? The people with the mental capacity to form such a strategy are, unfortunately, sitting on a pile of serious heavy fire power and are itching to use it.

The world is full of witnesses to smashed glass.

Worries of the Physical World

FoldedFace8467

The conditions of the physical world
don’t care
about mythology, history, traditions, beliefs or ideology.
They can sweep away the real world
with heat, wind or waves
independent of beliefs and customs.
The conditions of the physical world
have been drying up vast areas of land
that can no longer support human habitation.
Prays, hopes and beliefs could not stop the draught,
could not stop driving starving people from their land,
their now uninhabitable land.
The laws of life cannot be changed
with ideas, ideologies
or idiots with strong convictions.
Without listening to the demands of life
and the needs of nature,
we cannot hear our needs of survival.

System Orientation

SpringPark8595
A money-oriented system
develops to
a tiny group of the richest people
ruling over everyone else.
It’s Monopoly, Dorothy,
with the earth as the board.
When it’s game over
everyone loses.

A people-oriented system
(I know, I know, it’s a silly idea.)
develops to
everyone becoming secure in their needs
destroying
any need for hate or violence.
A healthy humanity
in a healthy ecology.
Everyone wins.

Never Underestimate a Stockholmer!

StklmTunnelbana_5220

The people who use PT (public transportation) desire to get from one place to another as quickly, efficiently, cost-effectively and pleasantly as possible. Today’s system charges the passengers to control them. It’s ridiculous. There’s nothing to control. The same people, more or less, will travel on PT whether it’s free or not. Stockholm’s PT, like PT in most cities throughout the world, is vital to the life of the city. The people going to work need transportation as much as their workplaces need transportation to get them there. We must also travel to and from cultural, social, political and romantic engagements.

The costs of controlling people wastes resources. The ticket system, the personnel and the machines are unnecessary heavy costs. Let the passengers go on and off the PT at will, no charge. People must use PT and will use it whether it is free or burdened with controls and costs, because it is a necessity. People don’t ride the PT for the joy of it (but they should enjoy the ride when they do) they ride it to get somewhere. The control apparatus lengthens the time of travel and increases the costs. Passengers, citizens and businesses would all benefit from free PT. If I know the citizens of Stockholm, a good part of the savings from cheaper PT will quickly find its way to a pub, café or restaurant. Particularly when it doesn’t cost anything to get there and back.

Businesses should pay their fair share of the taxes for free PT not only because they are dependent on customers with access to transportation, but savings from the control system puts money in the hands of their customers with free transportation to and from their businesses. Free transportation is good for business.

Public Transportation is a public necessity and should be free for everyone, visitors and tourists included. “Var så goda”, as they say in Sweden meaning “help yourself and enjoy our blessings.” The PT is yours to use.

Let my people go free on Public Transportation! No fees. No control. Hop on, hop off.

The difference between individual control-based transport fees compared to a free system paid for by the community through taxes steals from the citizens. The passengers are taxed individually for the right to be controlled when there’s nothing to control. Passenger frequency remains basically the same with or without a control system. People should not have to pay more for something they do not need. That’s extortion. They are going to use PT in any case. They don’t mind paying the costs of transportation, but do not want to pay for unnecessary equipment and unnecessary controls to accomplish an unnecessary task. Let the people go.

I repeat, emphatically, forcing people to pay for what they do not want (to be controlled) or need (to be controlled) is a form of theft known as extortion. Put fancy and politically correct names on it as much as you like. It’s extortion by structural theft. Citizens are the victims.

Can the majority get its transportation back, improve its quality and lower its costs? Yes, they can. They can. Will they? Unless I’m totally out of touch with Stockholmers, never underestimate them!

These are the people who rose up like a tsunami of protest and saved a group of elm trees. These are the people who played an honorable part in defeating the war of aggression in Vietnam. These are the people whose souls echo with Evert Taube.

Never underestimate a Stockholmer!

Three-eyed Ape on Humans

3EyedApe8465

Most democracies aren’t very democratic,
many Christians not very Christ-atic,
or Muslims particularly Islamic
ditto Buddhists being Dharmatic.

Humans are simply not very humane,
full of crazies, some outright insane,
love to do evil wth a righteous name,
convinced, of course,
they are not to blame.

IT’S FAMILY

TotemFam8549

IT’S FAMILY
We are equipped with the
experience of our ancestors
and
the strength of our technology.
We are capable of providing
every human in
the family of humanity
with their needs.
We have the strength
we have the resources
we have the knowhow
we have the love.
It’s family.

We see nature’s totem on the picture. It contains at least a dozen faces on close inspection and at least a dozen more should show up with time. They all try to say something as best they can with a signal manifesting from an expression. If you listen carefully each one has relevant comments on life and nature. You can listen at different times—and the times are always different—and hear different comments generated from questions within you.

At the top of the totem Oden’s wisdom-seeking eye scans the landscape. Is a spring for the family in sight?

Humor for Twisted Minds

LinnesHo_1385

”Hi there! Looking for a copper time?”
asked the green statue of an ancient young lady.
Humor for those with twisted minds.
The straight minds won’t get it.
The straight minds seldom do.
There’s nothing to get.
There’s a lot to do.
As any twisted mind can tell you,
”The path is never straight.”

This is a two-finger lady. If she puts down the one welcoming pointing finger, she will raise the middle finger in a fuck-off gesture. You didn’t imagine that this was an indiscriminate lady? This lady is solid. The word solid is an ancient sibling with the words truth and trust. That which is solid (like the wood for the fire we gathered round every day for more than a million years) is dependable, trustworthy and true. The source of all these words was the word for wood in all the Indo-European languages. The wood of the earth has nourished us for millions of years. We lived in its branches for 65 million years and have used it to build with and burn for two million years. How are we treating the earth’s trees today? Which finger?

The Birch and the Pine

You are so different.
You, light Birch. You, dark Pine
How differently you dress to nature’s demands.
You, evergreen Pine.
You, summer green, fall yellow Birch.

How differently you thank necessity.
You form yourself to a symphony, Birch.
You, Pine, to a drama.

How differently you praise the sun.
You, Pine, send your pointed needles
right out in exhilaration.
You, Birch, bend your branches
and bow all your soft leaves in reverence.

You are completely different, completely independent
and totally equal.
You share the same warmth and cold,
the same water and wind.
You embrace each other’s roots in the same earth.

You, tough Pine. You, solid Birch.
Two lungs that purify the air.
Two dancers to the rhythm of the wind.
Two hands holding the earth in place.
Two pillars holding up heaven.

You, beautiful Birch. You, magnificent Pine.
You’re so much alike.
